THE CHAPEL

{A Virtual Holy Place of Prayer, Peace and Meditation}

HALLELUJAH!

Praise God in His holy sanctuary, give praise in the mighty dome of heaven. Psalm 150:1

LET US PRAY:

O loving Jesus, what more could You have done to make me love You? Ah! make me understand the excess of that great love which made You become man for my sake, die on the Cross for my sake, and remain in the Holy Eucharist to be the very food of my soul. What more indeed could You have done to gain my love? Ah! would that I could die with grief each time I remember having offended You and misused Your Grace. O my Loving Jesus I am sorry from my very heart for having offended You. I love You O Infinite Goodness! O Infinite Love! Do not now refuse, Loving Jesus, to come again into my soul. I am determined to die a thousand times rather than banish You again from my heart. Come O Jesus! And kindle within me the fire of Your Love make me forget all things else so that I may think of You alone, seek You alone. My Sovereign Love, my only Good. Amen

CHAPEL MEDITATIONS

From the words of an antique holy card..............

JESUS IS LISTENING TO THEE

Whatever thy wants may be, however sinful thou may feel, at all times, in all places, in all circumstances have recourse to Jesus. If every second of thy life were spent in prayer, yet all thy prayers, put together would never be equal to His numberless mercies. Have confidence and pray!

Pray without ceasing!

THE GRACE OF JESUS WILL NOT BE DENIED THEE!

PRAYER OF SAINT AUGUSTINE

Breathe in me O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy; Act in me O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy; Draw my heart O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy; Strengthen me O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy; Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy. Amen.

CHAPEL MEDITATIONS

"Prayer that is pure and directed to God by a faithful heart arises like incense from a holy altar. No fragrance is more pleasing to the Lord. Let it rise from all who believe." St. Augustine, Enarrationes in. PS. 140, 5

PRAYER FOR GRACES

O Father, O Son, O Holy Ghost. O most Sacred Trinity, O Jesus, O Mary.

Ye blessed angels, and all ye saints of paradise, obtain for me these graces, which I ask through the most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ:

Always to do the will of God, to be always united with God, to think only of God, to love God alone, to do all for God, to seek only the glory of God, to become holy for God's sake alone, to know thoroughly my own nothingness, to know more and more the will of God.

{Mention your special intention}

Most Holy Mary, offer to the eternal Father the most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ for my soul, for the holy souls in purgatory, for the necessities of the holy Catholic Church, for the conversion of sinners, and for the whole world.

Pray three Gloria's to the most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ

One Hail Mary to our Lady of Sorrows and one Eternal rest grant unto them etc....for the suffering souls in purgatory.

CHAPEL MEDITATIONS

PSALM 63 Verses 1-9

Ardent Longing for God

O God, you are my God, I wait for you from the dawn.

My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you.

I came to your sanctuary,

 as one in a parched and waterless land,

 so that I could see your might and your glory.

My lips will praise you, for your mercy is better than life itself.

Thus I will bless you throughout my life,

 and raise my hands in prayer to your name;

my soul will be filled as if by rich food,

 and my mouth will sing your praises and rejoice.

I will remember you as I lie in bed,

 I will think of you in the morning,

for you have been my helper,

 and I will take joy in the protection of your wings.

My soul clings to you; your right hand raises me up.

Breathe on me, breath of God, Fill me with life anew, That I may love what thou dost love, And do what thou wouldst do. Breathe on me, breath of God, Until with Thee I will one will, to do and to endure.

LORD, SETTLE MY SOUL

By Maria Hare {1798-1870}

O Lord, this is all my desire ~ to walk along the path of life that Thou hast appointed me, even as Jesus my Lord would walk along it, in steadfastness of faith, in meekness of spirit, in lowliness of heart, in gentleness of love. And because outward events have so much power in scattering my thoughts and disturbing the inward peace in which alone the voice of Thy spirit is heard, do Thou, gracious Lord, calm and settle my soul by that subduing power which alone can bring all thoughts and desires of the heart into captivity to Thyself. All I have is Thine; do Thou with all as seems best to Thy divine will; for I know not what is best. Let not the cares or duties of this life press on me too heavily; but lighten my burden, that I may follow Thy way in quietness, filled with thankfulness for Thy mercy, and rendering acceptable service unto Thee.

CHAPEL MEDITATIONS

"Lord Jesus Christ, pierce my soul with Your love so that I may always long for You alone, who are the bread of angels and the fulfillment of the soul's deepest desires. May my heart always hunger for You, so that my soul may be filled with the sweetness of Your presence." ~Saint Bonaventure

An excerpt from

THE HEART'S PRAYER

As down in the sunless retreats of the ocean, sweet flowers are springing no mortal can see, so deep in my soul the still prayer of devotion, unheard by the world, rises silent to Thee.

CHAPEL MEDITATIONS

As the heavens tower over the earth, so God's love towers over the faithful. Psalm 103:11
